The Crafty Whovian: Part 1: Knitting!

walking work of art
I've wanted one of these for a while and couldn't find one, so here it is: a list of patterns, tutorials, and other reference material for Doctor Who-based knitting, crochet, and sewing! This part is knitting, because it got too big and unwieldy to put everything in one post. And a great big thank you to all of the amazing, creative, brilliant crafty fans who have knitted their fingers off and written up patterns for others to enjoy!

A couple of notes:

  • Most of the pattern links are to Ravelry. If you don't already have one, you'll need a free account.
  • Patterns are organized by type.
  • All patterns are free unless otherwise marked.
  • Leave me a comment if I've missed something that you think should be on this list, or if any links go down.

First off, here is a download of THE DOCTOR WHO PATTERN BOOK. Knitting patterns include the Fifth Doctor's cricket jumper, a soft toy K-9, jumpers with various classic series logos on them, two shirts based on Nyssa and Romana II's costumes, Doctor outfits for dolls/action figures, and a yeti. I did not scan the 'How to Knit' section, simply because it was not very good. Also, be forewarned that the pictures are not on the same pages as the patterns they correspond to. Also that it is very eighties.
